14. Rock gabion baskets along the stream receiving spring flow. The
gabions keep the banks stable.
15. Several houses were in danger of falling into the stream after the
August 2007 floods. NRCS provided cost-share through the Emergency
Watershed Program to rip-rap the lower part of the stream bank, shape
and fill in the upper part of the streambank and restore the back yards,
and vegetated the slopes. At the end (to the left in photo) they put in
a stream barb to direct the water flow into the channel and away from
the bank.
